Hamilton Marathon

Well I have decided to do the Hamilton Marathon again this year. I took most of the year off and only started training at the start of September with the race being on November 4. Didn't leave me much time to training but that was my new challenge this year, to see if I can train for a marathon in 2 months and still have a decent time. So far training have been pretty good, no major injuries, just some minor pains and strains but nothing that will stop me from running. Thanks to my friend Chris for pushing me to do this race, which I will be doing with both of my parents as well. Looking forward to it!

Team Running Free 2012

Yes another year and once again a Team Running Free 2012 member. Enjoying the benefits of being a member of the team team.

Team Running Free 2011

Well I am now officially a member of Team Running Free 2011. More discounts, more races, and more great gear! Looking forward to another great race season. Already planning on doing a marathon or two, plus the Full Vineman Triathlon (ironman distance) in California. Training has started and feeling great, going to be pushing myself harder then ever this year to see how far and fast I can go. Pushing my limits to see what they really are and what kind of numbers I put up this year. Blessings,

SLS3 Compression

Hi everyone: Just thought I would post about my most recent purchase, the SLS3 compression socks. I have been having very tight calfs in training for the Hamilton Marathon in Nov. So I decided to try something to resolve the issue, next to of course regular massages and extra stretching. I will give you an update in a few weeks as to how the calf recovery is going. As I stated earlier, I am currently in training for the Hamilton marathon in Nov. I am now training 4 days a week running a mixing some biking and weight training as well. I am also now looking at getting a new pair of training shoes as my old Mizuno Wave Riders are now worn out and actually hurting my feet. I am looking at the Mizuno Wave Precision 11 shoe, which I will be trying out tonight at Running Free in Newmarket. blessings, Jason

Peterborough Half Ironman

Well it is finally here, my main race of the year, the Peterborough Half Ironman on Sunday, July 4th. I didn't train as much as a did last year but I trained just as hard in a shorter time. I am feeling good and ready to race, can't wait for the race weekend. Weather is to be nice and should be a great race day out there. Blessings,

Whitby Marathon

Even with a tough hilly course, hot temperatures and humidity that was unexpected I still had my second best marathon time: 3hours and 7secs for a 3rd place over all finish in the Whitby Marathon. Even with wearing my new Saucony Fastwitch 4 shoes which I bought only the day before the race and did a 2 mile run in, the shoes were great, considering I have never worn them before. All in all it was a great day for me, and I actually felt great after the race, which has never happened before. But praise the Lord for sustaining me through the race and being with me and guiding me all the way. Now onto to a quick recovery as I am doing the Persechini Easter Seals 10km run/walkathon (http://www.persechinirun.org) on Sunday, May 30th. Then training for the Peterborough Half-Ironman on Sunday, July 4th. Blessings, Jason

Officially insane

Well I did it, I am officially insane.....I completed my Insanity workout series last week. It is a great series if you really want to push your limits and see what you are made of. I always like to find new challenging workouts and races to do. I am now focusing 100% on my triathlon training in my workouts. I love getting back on the bike and doing my rides. I actually had my first ride outside last week with my wife, which was actually her first ride on her first road bike. I was very proud of her and how well she did especially riding in the traffic in Newmarket, not always easy for beginners. But she did it and didn't even fall of her bike once, but there was one close call when we first started. anyways more updates to follow now
