First update in a while

Sorry all for not posting anything in the past few months. I have been busy training and changing my nutrition to be Vega based. With more veggies and raw food diet, with plant based sourced protein and nutrition. This has been great thus far and has really improved my performance and mainly my recovery after training, I recover much faster then ever before now. I am training for the Syracuse half ironman triathlon in June, in hopes of finishing well under 5 hours. My previous best is 5Hour 9 mins. Now that the nicer weather is here I hope to get outside on my bike now for my longer rides. Happy training!!!

Completed the Hamilton Marathon

Well I did it, it wasn't easy or that fun this time, but I did it. In a time of 3 hours and 12 mins and a lot of muscle pain I finished. The downhill section of the course was very hard on the quads and I paid for it during the 2nd half of the marathon. For the last 8 miles my quads just kept getting more painful with every step and it took everything within me to just keep running. I eventually slowed to an 8min mile pace for the last few miles but was able to keep moving. At least that part of my very short marathon training is over, now on to some GSP Rush Fit for the off season and back to Triathlons (half Ironman) next year.

Hamilton Marathon

Well I have decided to do the Hamilton Marathon again this year. I took most of the year off and only started training at the start of September with the race being on November 4. Didn't leave me much time to training but that was my new challenge this year, to see if I can train for a marathon in 2 months and still have a decent time. So far training have been pretty good, no major injuries, just some minor pains and strains but nothing that will stop me from running. Thanks to my friend Chris for pushing me to do this race, which I will be doing with both of my parents as well. Looking forward to it!

Team Running Free 2012

Yes another year and once again a Team Running Free 2012 member. Enjoying the benefits of being a member of the team team.

Team Running Free 2011

Well I am now officially a member of Team Running Free 2011. More discounts, more races, and more great gear! Looking forward to another great race season. Already planning on doing a marathon or two, plus the Full Vineman Triathlon (ironman distance) in California. Training has started and feeling great, going to be pushing myself harder then ever this year to see how far and fast I can go. Pushing my limits to see what they really are and what kind of numbers I put up this year. Blessings,

SLS3 Compression

Hi everyone: Just thought I would post about my most recent purchase, the SLS3 compression socks. I have been having very tight calfs in training for the Hamilton Marathon in Nov. So I decided to try something to resolve the issue, next to of course regular massages and extra stretching. I will give you an update in a few weeks as to how the calf recovery is going. As I stated earlier, I am currently in training for the Hamilton marathon in Nov. I am now training 4 days a week running a mixing some biking and weight training as well. I am also now looking at getting a new pair of training shoes as my old Mizuno Wave Riders are now worn out and actually hurting my feet. I am looking at the Mizuno Wave Precision 11 shoe, which I will be trying out tonight at Running Free in Newmarket. blessings, Jason

Peterborough Half Ironman

Well it is finally here, my main race of the year, the Peterborough Half Ironman on Sunday, July 4th. I didn't train as much as a did last year but I trained just as hard in a shorter time. I am feeling good and ready to race, can't wait for the race weekend. Weather is to be nice and should be a great race day out there. Blessings,
